Repair Research and ideas:

I wanted to look into various ways games and other media have made repairing things interesting as engaging for the audience so I can use these ideas to inspire new and different ways for me to create my repair mini games.

Among us:

Among Us is a game build on the concept of completing small and simple mini games, so it is worth while to look at them and see what makes them so good and successful. The point of the game is all about finding a killer on the ship so these games need to be short both for the fact that the player needs to move around the map to do all objectives and so it can build suspense as it blocks their view when doing these objectives.

Ratchet and clank:

The ratchet and clank games always have small mini games you need to complete to unlock a room or lower a bridge. they usually involve a lot of hand eye coordination and multitasking, for example this mini game has little sparks flying around a grid. and they cn randomly cross into the middle. if they do you need to flip the connectors so they can pass through, it is a perfect balance off simple and complex to keep the player engaged.

Bioshock:

This is the hacking mini game in Bioshock here you have to reveal panels and build the circuit before the the water fills up. it is incredibly simple in concept and is honed by the idea of some pies fill up slower or long to add variety.
