Dialog Systems:

In this weeks lecture we covered dialog systems. we made our own node systems that effect how the npc will react depending on how you talk to them. positive responses will get you a positive reaction and vice versa. This system I made is themed around my game idea of a repair man talking to a customer who has called them out.


Some of these nodes on certain layers can only be answered in certain ways. for example 'Node B' on 'layer 2' cantor be answered in a positive way so you can only get the best outcome if you are nice from the start in this instance.

Doing this activity made me come up with the idea of letting the player be rewarded for doing it quickly ONLY if you were nice to the npc. Thematically this makes sense as they would be giving you a tip for your service as well as it making it a driving force to play well as you will get rewarded for it.
