In this gameplay video the emphasis on being an unbeatable obstacle, this is emphasised by the gameplay shown of the player constantly being hit and dying to the projectiles, this leads to an array of messages that support you and encourage you to keep trying.
This leads to key mechanic that is used during the clip where you accept the help to beat the once unbeatable obstacle segment.
This is the turning point in this gameplay actually shows the essential experience of accepting the help and using that to drive the player and give them the power to finish the segment and get the final ending.
Once the segment is complete the game presents you with one last question, it asks: would you give up all your save data to be able to help others in the exact position that you were just in and help them with their unbeatable obstacle.
In response to the question of how to the lenses that Jesse Schell describes I would say this game play uses mostly three lenses of Inherent interest, Projection and Beauty. Objectively I would say this specific gameplay's message and significants is more powerful than the rest of what this segment is made of although it still does have a presence.
Inherent Interest: 'overcoming an almost insurmountable task' the fact this is the first way this section was described to me makes me have a drive that getting past it must be such a challenge and therefore rewarding to the player this also makes the shift in challenge that much more satisfying when you finally think you've given up only to be rewarded with the power you need to beat this unbeatable obstacle.
Projection: Everyone feel like this sometimes and this example give the player a comforting feeling of reassurance that they can project themselves into the player teaching them that as long as they try to help others in need you will get the help you need.
Beauty: I would say the part that stands out the most to me is the soundtrack and the observation that the supporting vocals are actually the devs cheering you on. This is a small feature that just adds so much depth to the experience that you can make it through this impossible challenge.
