Updated: Jan 26, 2021

Repairman is a game where you will take control of a handyman called Darren Hitchfield, he lives in a tightly packed city called Lenquall It is his job to fix up all the poorly installed and faulty devices that are broken.

The game will involve you to traverse this dense city and find then repair these broken objects, the catch is you can create inventions to help you on your jobs making them easier and enhancing and push the limits that you had on your movement.

This is a story board for the gameplay loop a player would experience within my game, to break It down there is three main phases Traversal, Repair and Inventing.

Essential Experience:

The core experience I want player to have from my game is

'the rewarding feeling of overcoming an obstacle in your own way'

This can be in reference to a individual jump or a whole area. I want the player to be able to 'upgrade' to push the limits of their movement and enhance the essential experience by giving them more variety and agility to their movement throughout the world.

Narrative:

Repairman will take place in a quickly developing third world country with a boom in technology in the city of Lenquall. With this boom in the technological industries a lot of the technology and newly installed electronics on the slums buildings ends up being installed wrong and therefore is prone to faults. When something breaks in these in and around these cities the best person to call is the Darren 'Handyman' Hitchfields he is renown to always do an amazing job fixing all faults and prolonging the life of every gizmo he touches. Even in the tightly cramped area of the outskirt of the city.

The only problem is these jobs are starting to get tougher and tougher to manoeuvre around. You join Darren striking an epiphany to use his marvellous tech savvy brain to invent some new gizmos that would help him get around the city with less hassle. and overall making his life a lot more easy.
